Are You Saved?

Dear friend: Through the reading of these pages, you may have asked yourself if you could also be able to know God as your personal Savior, and receive His peace in your heart. Jesus said that in order to know God, which is Spirit, you must be born again in your human spirit. In order for this to happen, it is necessary to:

1. BELIEVE first of all, in the existence of God, and then to believe also that Jesus is the Son of God. That, with his death on the cross, he has taken on himself all your sins, so that you can receive the forgiveness from God." For God has so loved the world, that He has given his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, will not perish, but will have eternal life." (Gospel of John 3:16).

2. RECOGNIZE before God that you have lived a selfish life and that, in having not been interested him, and having not honored him with your life, you have sinned against him and thus you are separated from him." All have sinned and come short of the glory of God "(Letter to the Romans 3:23).

3. REPENT by returning to God and asking for his forgiveness for the past sins, and asking for his help to live according to his will. "But if you do not repent, you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3).

4. CONFESS to God now, that you recognize Jesus as your Savior and Lord. "For if with your mouth you will confess Jesus as your Savior, and believe in your heart that God has resurrected him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

5. Be Baptized by immersion. Jesus said: Go and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). See also Mark 16:15,16.

If after a careful reflection and meditation of these Scriptures, you are willing to make this important step, then you can pray this prayer out loud, as if you are speaking to God himself.

"Dear God, I am convinced of being a sinner, and as such I deserve to perish. But now I believe in my heart, that Jesus is your Son, that He died on the cross for all sinners, included me, and that He shed his blood in order to wash all my sins away. I now confess Jesus as my Savior and Lord, and I thank you for your forgiveness and for the gift of eternal life. I trust that you will help me, to live a Christian life, according to your will."

Do not base your salvation on your feelings. Our feelings change. Your new relation with God is based on his promises (Roman 10:13). Do not be ashamed to tell others about your new life with Jesus (Gospel of Matthew 10:32). Spend a little of your daily time in prayer, and in the reading of your Bible (1 Peter 2:2; Psalm 37:4; Romans 8:14).

When you have made this, which is your most important decisions of your life, we invite you kindly let us know, so that we can rejoice with you, and help you in your next Biblical steps, for your "spiritual growth". Please consider that, being a "new born baby in Christ", you are spiritually like a newly born human baby. If left alone, even if we should fill his room with the necessary baby-food for a year, after a few weeks the baby would be dead. Why? Because he doesn't know how to feed himself. Therefore he will need a grown up person, to feed and nurture him. The same it is for a newly born Christian. He is a spiritual baby. Even if he had the whole Bible and all the other books as his spiritual food, he would not know which food to take, or how to take it. Therefore, you can't be by yourself, but you should seek the company of other 'born again' Christians, which have more experience in the ways of the Lord, and worship God with them regularly.
