About Us
Continued:
In Isaiah 6:8, God asked, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then
Isaiah said, "Here am I; send me."
Three weeks after surrendering and allowing God to be Lord of my life, God
baptized me with the Holy Spirit. The next day He gave me a vision calling
me to the ministry of Evangelism and Church-planting in Italy.
In that vision, I saw first the map of Italy, then the area of the province
of Frosinone where Anna and I were born and had grown up. As the map faded
away, I saw hundreds of people all dressed in dark clothing, walking around
and around, but not going anywhere. The people appeared to be in pain, as if
each one had a stomach ache. I asked the Lord why he was showing me this
vision, why they were suffering, and if I could do anything to help them.
God spoke to my heart, "These people are suffering because they don't know
where to go. No one is showing them the Way. No one cares for them! They
don't know the Truth, and no one is telling them!"
Then I said, "Lord, I want to help them! What can I do for them? Please,
Lord, tell me what to do, and I'll do it. Send me, and I will go!"
In the spirit, I saw a hand pointing toward the people in the vision, and
God said, "There! That's where I want you to go! When you were young, you
were ashamed to even mention My name because you were not living a good and
faithful Christian life. But now I want you to go back to Italy, and start
from the city of Frosinone, to preach the Gospel all over the province!"
The call had been issued and I had answered, "Here am I; send me."
Soon afterward I enrolled in a Bible School where I earned a Diploma in
Ministerial Studies for my ordination. I also earned a Certification in
Missionary Principles. But I did not anticipate what lay ahead.
The Challenges...
When I accepted God's call upon my life, I thought doors would fly open with
offers of support. I mean, who wouldn’t want to support someone whom God had
called?! But no matter where we turned, we encountered one rejection after
another, and I began to question whether God had, indeed, called me to
preach the Gospel in Italy.
Then the Lord spoke to my heart again, and this time He challenged me and my
commitment to go. He asked me how urgent I would be to tell others and bring
them into the Kingdom if I knew He was coming back for His church in two
weeks. He asked if I’d be willing to sell everything I have in order to
spread the Gospel all over the world as quickly as possible.
I didn't need to hear any more! I determined that I would not allow anyone
or anything to thwart God's plan for my life! But that, too, was easier said
than done... But I don’t wish to dwell on the past or the negatives. The
fact is that I did go and God has provided all our needs according to His
riches in glory by Christ Jesus!
One evening, after facing many 'closed doors', I cried to God and asked why.
Again, He spoke to my heart. He reminded me of His promise to never leave me
nor forsake me, and He explained that the current battles were training to
toughen my 'spiritual skin'. He also told me that I would find more
opposition from our 'brothers and sisters' than from the world itself. And,
sadly, I have found that to be true...
Moving Out in Faith...
Having decided to obey God at any cost, we sold our home in Medford,
Massachusetts. With only $25,000 in our hands, we left for the mission
field. We trusted God that He would provide for all our needs. And He has!
God is faithful. Praise His Holy Name!!!
God has never forsaken us... although, at times we had to search in every
pocket in the closets to find change to buy milk for our children. Yet, God
was always there. I am sure if we had full support from the beginning and my
wife and I had not needed to work to support our family and the ministry, we
could have done more for the Kingdom of God. I also believe more souls would
have been saved as a result.
Our Goal...
In Paul's testimony as recorded in Acts 26, he declared before King Agrippa
that he was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to
those in Damascus and in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea
and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works
befitting repentance! Praise the name of Jesus! Paul was obedient to his
calling... and I will be, too!
We will continue to reach out to every person in the province with the
saving message of the Gospel. We have begun in this province and as the Lord
guides, we will reach out to other provinces. We need to teach and train
other leaders to do the same. As God leads and provides, we will share and
press on to alert other pastors, churches, and ministries of the urgency
which the Lord has commanded me to tell to His people in Italy!
